Thor, Marvel, Kenneth Branagh

Thor, Marvel, Kenneth Branagh

Thor is the Marvel version of the Norse Aesir’s God of Thunder. This movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh and the super heroics are simply marvellous. In the Marvel Universe Thor is one of the founding members of The Avengers (aka Earth Mightiest Heroes). Thor travel between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard (the Home of the Aesir (Sky Gods). Thor is one of the most powerful warriors amongst the Norse Gods (Aesir) but his reckless arrogance re-awaken an ancient feuds thus as punishment he is banished to Midgard where he fell in love with Jane Foster (portman). As he learn humility the dark forces of Asgard invade Earth and Thor has to fight to save Midgard and the humans. The visual effects are stunning and the story is captivating even for those who have never read his comics or watched his cartoon series. The DVD version has a whopping 7 languages, as far as I recall the maximum for a DVD is 8 languages, not bad at all.
Please note that to understand some cryptic references you will first need to watch the following Marvel’s DVD: Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2. Nevertheless even without watching those, Thor is still an enjoyable stand alone movie. Related Marvel Movies include: Avengers Assemble, Thor (2) The dark World, Avengers (2) Age of Ultron, etc. .
