Littlefoot the little long neck dinosaur returns, after a long wait, once again on this 14th movie of this ongoing children series.
Littlefoot is based on characters created by Judy Freudberg and Tony Geiss and lives with his grandma and grandpa; he lost his mommy on the very 1st movie of the series. His dad leads a large migrating heard of herbivores dinosaurs thus cannot live in the Great Valley where Littlefoot adventures take place. In additions to the 14 movies there was also a TV series of the Land Before Time with 26 episodes.
Little foot has many adventures with his pals, tri-horn Cera, swimmer Ducky, flyer Pitrie and the Ankylosaurus Spike. In this latest movie, Littlefoot is waiting for the migrating heard of dinosaurs led by his Dad, Bron, to visit the Great Valley. Unfortunately, a Dinobird called Wildarms, which remind me of Guido (last seen on the previous movie, The Land Before Time 13, the Great Day of the Flyers.) tells Littlefoot that his dad got left behind at the fire mountain, an erupting volcano. Littlefoot is told by the adult that it is too dangerous to leave the protection of the Great Valley, nevertheless while nobody is looking he goes off to rescue his dad, even his 4 dino pals tell him that it is too dangerous. Nevertheless, as he set off, littlefoot is eventually joined by his four pals, Cera, Pitrie, Ducky and Spike. Along this new adventure they meet feathered carnivores dinosaurs with sharp teeth but they manage to escape. The little dino’s families eventually realize that the kids have gone and with the reluctant assistance of Wild Arms go searching for the kids dinos outside the Great Valley.
Will they be able to find the dino kids? Will the dino kids be able to find and save Bron, Littlefoot father? Chomper the little baby t-rex friend of littlefoot secretly join the adults and with his sharp sense of smell, will try to assist the adults dinos looking for the wondering dino kids. There are plenty of adventures and little perils along the way, as well as plenty of new pals, but the 5 dino kids do not give up easily on their quest.
The quality of the animation is as good as that of Disney’s movies and even though the dialogues are oriented to children, adults (who can recall the kid within them) should still find them amusing. There are several catchy songs that many kids may enjoy sing along. Review written by Swissautistic Reporter [TM]
