Decorated Easter Eggs, Easter Bunny (or Easter Hare) and the rebirth of Jesus of Nazareth

Decorated Easter Eggs
Easter eggs are decorated chicken eggs either dyed or painted; a modern custom is to have chocolate eggs wrapped in colourful foil such as kinder surprise, or plastic eggs filled with sweets and candy.

The Easter Bunny is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the “Easter Hare” originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behaviour at the start of the season of Eastertide. The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes. In legend, the creature carries colored eggs in his basket, candy, and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Santa Claus or the Christkind, as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holidays.

The rebirth of Jesus of Nazareth
Traditional eggs were a symbol of fertility and rebirth, in Christianity, for the celebration of Eastertide, Easter eggs symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus, from which Jesus resurrected.
In addition, one ancient tradition was the staining of Easter eggs with the colour red “in memory of the blood of Christ, shed as at that time of his crucifixion. This custom of the Easter egg can be traced to early Christians of Mesopotamia, and from there it spread into Russia and Siberia through the Orthodox Churches, and later into Europe through the Catholic and Protestant Churches.
Easter, also called Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Jesus Resurrection

Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as Holy Week; it commemorates the Maundy, Last Supper, as well as Good Friday that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus.
In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the fiftieth day, Pentecost Sunday.
In Eastern Christianity, the season of Pascha (Easter) begins on Pascha and ends with the coming of the fortieth day, the Feast of the Ascension.

Easter and the holidays that are related to it are moveable feasts which do not fall on a fixed date in the Gregorian or Julian calendars which follow only the cycle of the sun; rather,
its date is determined on a lunisolar calendar similar to the Hebrew calendar. Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar.
In many languages, the words for “Easter” and “Passover” are identical or very similar.
